The Kauaʻi County Department of Parks and Recreation announced that the tennis and basketball courts at the park will be closed through Jan. 24, weather permitting. The courts have been closed since Sept. 3 and were expected to reopen this month.

The closure is necessary for playcourt resurfacing work, the addition of pickleball courts and other upgrades.

It is part of the county’s $3.1 million playcourt resurfacing project, which also includes Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapaʻa and Puhi Park in Līhuʻe.
