Residents on Menehune Road in Waimea, from and including Menehune Place to the end of Menehune Road as well as Kalo Road and Gay Road, will have their water service temporarily shut off.

The Kaua‘i County Department of Water scheduled the water service shutdown for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today so a new service lateral could be installed in the shutdown.

The project and shutdown are weather permitting.

Customers in the affected area are advised to take the following steps:

  • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
