Shark sighted at Kekaha Beach; no swimming, other ocean activities advised

Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau officials advise no swimming or other ocean activities until further notice at Kekaha Beach because of a shark sighting.

A 10-foot tiger shark was spotted feeding near the shoreline Friday afternoon in the surf break area known as Intersections.

No injuries were reported.

Warning signs were posted. Ocean Safety Bureau officials will continue to monitor the area, and lifeguards will reassess the situation Saturday afternoon.
