Halloween costume contest in Hanapēpē inviting keiki, adults to dress up for cash prizes

Big cash prizes are up for grabs at the Storybook Theatre of Hawai‘i’s Halloween Costume Contest on Oct. 25.

The event in Hanapēpē will begin at 6 p.m. for children and 7 p.m. for adults. It coincides with the town’s regularly-scheduled Friday art night.

Prizes for children include a $100 first-place prize and a selection of toys from Uncle Henri’s Toy Store. Prizes for adults include a $200 first-place prize and cash prizes for second and third place. All participants will receive prizes from town merchants and Storybook’s Busy Bee Toy Store.

All participants must be registered prior to the evening of Oct. 25. All participants must be on site and check in 15 minutes prior to the start of their contest. Adjudication of the costumes and prize awards will occur immediately following the event.
