County asks East Kauaʻi residents to attend upcoming ‘community design workshops’
The Planning Department of the County of Kauaʻi will hold several workshops in Kapaʻa and surrounding areas from Oct. 1-3 as part of its East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan.
The plan will serve as one of five district community plans, guiding the county’s land use decisions and infrastructure investment priorities, according to the website for the plan.
“These workshops offer East Kaua‘i residents and property owners a chance to influence the vision for the future development and growth of Kapaʻa and Wailua,” the county’s press release states.
Topics to be discussed include town design, land use, housing, transportation, economic development, shared space, infrastructure and natural environment.
“Participants will have the opportunity to express their views on the desired level of change for each community and discuss strategies for preserving, enhancing or transforming these areas for both the present and future,” the press release said.
