Lane closure scheduled in Nāwiliwili for road resurfacing work

A portion of Niumalu Road in Nāwiliwili, from Nāwiliwili to Wa‘apa Roads, will be closed starting Sept. 23 for road resurfacing work.

The work will continue to Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting, Kaua‘i County officials stated Tuesday afternoon.

Officials advise motorists that full closures may be intermittent and to drive cautiously in the area, as heavy machinery and commercial vehicles will be present.

Make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
