Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Sept. 14-20. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

OMA‘O TO LAWAI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 10, on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

KAUMAKANI TO KAPALAWAI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 18 to 22, on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

‘ELE‘ELE

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Ko Road, on Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for trench backfilling as part of sewer line replacement.

KEKAHA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for replacement of culverts. Right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between Ho‘olaulea Way and Mokoi Street, in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta driveway entrance on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for slope stabilization.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.78 to 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Sept. 16 through Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sign installations.

LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 3.5 to 4.5, in the vicinity of the Wailua Golf Course, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass trimming and guardrail clearing.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 23.8 to 26, in the vicinity of Kalihiwai Road and the Princeville Airport, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 27.9, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sign installations and striping work.

PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for drain line and storm manhole installations. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— NAWILIWILI ROAD (ROUTE 58) —

Right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) possible in either direction between mile post 0.81 to 0.67, in the vicinity of Wilcox Road and Lala Road, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

— HALEWILI ROAD (ROUTE 540) —

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Quarry Drive, on Sept. 18 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTE 550) —

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.5 to 14, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for repaving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road reconstruction and resurfacing as part of the Kuamo‘o Road Resurfacing project.
