Reminder: Kaua‘i officials holding town hall meeting on cesspool conversions tonight

The Kauaʻi House Delegation tonight will host a community town hall, “Transitioning Away from Cesspools,” at the Kauaʻi Philippine Cultural Center in Līhu‘e.

The public is invited to attend to learn information on cesspools, alternative wastewater options, financing and the Kauaʻi County Cesspool Conversion Grant Program.

The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Guest speakers will include local government and nonprofit leaders.

The state of Hawaiʻi in 2017 passed a law requiring all cesspools be converted by the year 2050.
