The Jammin’ Banana, a family owned and operated bakery and café in Nāwiliwili on the East Side of Kaua‘i, is celebrating its one-year anniversary today.

All food and drinks are 50% off on Sept. 8, according to The Jammin’ Banana’s Instagram account.

The business is the brainchild of co-owner and baker Emily Szurgot, who spent early 2023 selling homemade banana bread from a VW van on the Shore Shore of Kaua‘i.

Her father Doug, a longtime electrician impressed by his daughter’s success, said: “You know what? We only live once,” and helped Emily open The Jammin’ Banana, which looks out upon Kalapakī Bay from the rear of the Anchor Cove shopping center.

Kaua‘i Now profiled The Jammin’ Banana at its six-month anniversary earlier this year – to read the business profile in full, click here.
