Lane closures announced for week of Aug. 3-9

The Hawai’i Department of Transportation has announced its planned lane closures for the week of Aug. 3-9.

All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found online.

— KAUMUALIʻI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —

1) PUHI TO KIPU (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction between Puhi Road and Kipu Road, on Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 5-7 and Friday, Aug. 9, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for guardrail clearing.

2) KŌLOA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kāhili Road, on Thursday through Friday morning, Aug. 8-9, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

3) ʻŌMAʻO TO LĀWAʻI

Right lane closure possible in either direction between Ūpā Road and Wawae Road, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

4) HANAPĒPĒ TO KAUMAKANI

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 14 to 19, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Avenue, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading and guardrail clearing.

— RICE STREET (HIGHWAY 51) —

1) LĪHUʻE

Right lane closure in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Hoʻolauleʻa Way and Mokoi Street, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560) —

1) LĪHUʻE TO HANAMĀʻULU

Single lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installations.

2) HANAMĀʻULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 1.06 and 2.57, in the vicinity of Laukini Street and Kapule Highway, on Sunday through Friday, Aug. 4-9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

3) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday through Friday, Aug. 4-9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.

4) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for slope stabilization work.

5) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 1 to 2.5, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

Right lane closure in the northbound direction, between Haleko Road and Kukui Grove Street, on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5-6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming and grass cutting.

— HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540) —

1) KALĀHEO (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Haku Hale Street and Kauwai Street, on Wednesday through Thursday morning, Aug. 7-8, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550) —

1) KŌKEʻE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Sunday through Friday, Aug. 4-9, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580) —

1) WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

2) WAILUA HOMESTEADS (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 1.6 to 1.9, on Tuesday through Wednesday morning, Aug. 6-7, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

3) WAILUA HOMESTEADS (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 3.6 to 3.9, on Monday through Tuesday morning, Aug. 5-6, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

4) WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 4 to 6.6, on Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

5) WAILUA HOMESTEADS (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, on Sunday through Monday morning, Aug. 4-5, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 1.3 to 3.3, on Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 7-9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to fix the drop off on the edge of the road.

2) KAPAIA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 2.81 to 3.84, on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for cutting grass and trees.
