Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: April 26 to May 3

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for April 26 to May 3. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KŌLOA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 5 and 7, in the vicinity of Kahili Road and Kahili Wai Street, on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.

OMAO

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 and 9, on Wednesday, May 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9 and 10, in the vicinity of Upa Road and Akemana Road, on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 15 and 21, in the vicinity of Laulea Street, on Tuesday, April 30 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 15.28 and 16, on Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for highway shoulder grading.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between Lele Road and Russian Fort Elizabeth, on Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for highway shoulder grading.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kuene Street and Kapule Highway, Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for striping and sign installation.

WAILUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Full closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) at the Wailua Mauka Bridge, on Saturday, April 27 through Monday, April 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge repair work. The Makai Bridge will allow for one lane of traffic in both directions. Please proceed with caution.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) at the Wailua Mauka Bridge in the southbound direction, on Tuesday, April 30 through Friday, May 3, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge repair work. One lane will remain open southbound on the Mauka Bridge. Please proceed with caution.

WAIPOULI TO KAPA‘A (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between Waikaea Bridge and Mailihuna Road, on Sunday, April 28 through Friday, May 3, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for asphalt reconstruction and paving. Traffic will be allowed through the work area alternating in the open lane. Anticipate delays.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, April 28 through Friday, May 3, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

KĪLAUEA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 21 and 23.8, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street and Kalihiwai Road, on Monday, April 29 through Thursday, May 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday, April 28 through Friday, May 3, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

— HALEWILI ROAD (ROUTES 540) —

KALĀHEO TO ELEELE

Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.89 and 3.81, in the vicinity of Huehu Road, on Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and shoulder grading.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTES 550) —

KOKE‘E (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.5 and 14, in the vicinity of Koke‘e State Park, on Sunday, April 28 through Friday, May 3 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization and waterline installation. — KAPA‘A BYPASS ROAD (ROUTES 5600) —

WAILUA TO KAPA‘A

Right lane closure on Kapaa Bypass Road (Route 5600) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.84 to 2.65, on Monday, April 29 through Thursday, May 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass and grading the edge of the pavement.
