Update: Kapa‘a refuse transfer station to resume collection of bagged trash

4:10 p.m. April 26 update: The Kapa‘a refuse transfer station will resume normal operations and accept loose mixed waste starting Saturday.

Original post: The Kapa‘a refuse transfer station will only accept bagged trash until further notice due to equipment repairs.

The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works made the announced in a news release on April 24. The department stated:

All other Kapa‘a refuse transfer station services are available. In addition, loose trash will be accepted at all other refuse transfer stations.

The Kapa‘a refuse transfer station’s daily operating hours are from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The transfer station is closed on state holidays.

 During this period, customers are advised to use green waste at the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station.
