Kaua‘i police investigate crash involving pickup truck and school bus

Kaua‘i police are investigating a crash in Hanapēpē involving a pickup truck and school bus on April 5 where minor injuries were reported.

The incident occurred on April 5 at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Kaumuali‘i Highway. According to police, a green Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on Kaumuali‘i Highway when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Yamaguchi School Bus.

The driver of the Toyota, a 69-year-old female from Kekaha, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released at the scene by responding medics.

The driver of the school bus and a single juvenile passenger did not report any injuries.

A portion of the highway was closed while crews worked to clear vehicles from the roadway.
