Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: April 6-12

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures on Kaua‘i for April 6-12. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KIPU TO OMAO

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between Pu‘uana Road and Maluhia Road, beginning Wednesday, April 10 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

LĀWA‘I TO KALĀHEO

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.7 and 11.5, in the vicinity of Konishi Road and Silva Tract Road, beginning Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

HANAPĒPĒ TO KAUMAKANI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between Lele Road and Kaumakani Road, on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

KEKAHA

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) near mile post 24.4 in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, for road repair until further notice. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kuene Street and Kapule Highway, on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installation.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction, between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road, on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

WAILUA TO PRINCVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Fernandes Road and Ka Haku Road,on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for sweeping roadway, bridges and roundabouts.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, April 7 through Friday, April 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOA‘A

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 15.5 to 18, in the vicinity of Papa‘a Road, on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

Right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between Kalapaki Road and Mokoi Street, on Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

Single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 3 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Quarry Drive, on Monday, April 8 through Friday, April. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction of fire breaks.

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Sunday, April 7 through Friday, April. 12, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for road widening and paving.

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.
