No injuries were reported after a California man was rescued in waters off Kapa‘a.
Kaua‘i Fire Department responded to the incident on Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. on a report of a distressed swimmer in waters fronting the Pono Kai Resort.
Upon arrival, Kaua‘i Firefighters spotted the swimmer, identified as a 25-year-old man, about 60 yards from shore. First responders entered the water with a rescue tube and retrieved the visitor.
The swimmer was later assessed by personnel with American Medical Response.
The scene was cleared shortly before 12:30 p.m.
