Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: Feb. 24 to March 1

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures for the week of Feb. 24 to March 1. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KALĀHEO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, beginning Sunday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March. 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for storm drain installation and paving.

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 12 and 15, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulae Street, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction between Halewili Road and Hananpēpē Road, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sewer line crossing.

HANAPĒPĒ TO MAKAWELI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 17 and 20, in the vicinity of Lele Road, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

— KAPULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 51) —

LĪHU‘E (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kapule Highway (Route 51) in the northbound direction between mile post .87 and 1 in the vicinity of Rice Street, on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for cleaning the drainage ditch.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Ehiku Street and Laulima Street, beginning Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and clearing of drains.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOA‘A

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between milepost 14 to 17, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Ko‘olau Rjoad and Princeville Airport, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.

— MA‘ALO ROAD (ROUTE 583) —

KAPAIA

Single lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) between milepost 0 and .92, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway, on Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting of grass and low-hanging branches.
