Volunteers gather nearly 600 pounds of marine debris on Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service

Sixty volunteers gathered on Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service for a beach cleanup on Monday.

Hosted by Surfrider Foundation, in partnership with Pride Kaua‘i and Aina Alliance, the group, collected nearly 600 pounds of marine debris and trash along the Anahola coastline. Items picked up included plastic bottles, glass, styrofoam, fishing line, microplastics, ghost nets and eel nets.
