Kaua‘i-made film ‘Too Much Life’ makes world premiere on Garden Island tonight

The Kaua‘i Film Academy created its first feature-length narrative film, “Too Much Life,” on the Garden Isle using local talent, crew and resources.

The world premiere of the film is tonight at the Kauaʻi War Memorial Convention Hall, located at 4191 Hardy St. in Līhu‘e. Click here for tickets.

“Too Much Life,” written by the academy’s Screenplay Committee under the guidance of instructors, took approximately one year to complete the first draft. The film explores Kaua‘i teenagers dealing with cyberbullying, social media and online relationships.

According to the academy’s website, the lead character Harper Hudson is based upon the experiences of several of the students who wrote the story.

“This film is more than a student-driven film, or major project for our students to complete after attending the Kauai Film Academy,” the academy wrote on its website. “It’s something for our entire island to be a part of – from food service to filming we believe that it is time for Kaua‘i to make a feature film about Kaua‘i, about our keiki, and about our future.”
