An overnight water service shutdown has been scheduled along Ala Namahana Parkway on Dec. 14 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Dec. 15, weather permitting, to allow contractor, Roger Taniguchi, Inc. to tie in a new eight-inch line to the existing system.

The service area includes Ahuimanu Center tenants, Kīlauea Fish Market and the Kīlauea Post Office. Door notices are being delivered to affected customers.

Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps:

  • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify tenants, neighbors and family about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
