Update: brush fire extinguished in Kōloa

1 p.m. update: Kaua‘i Fire Department crews have extinguished the fire and cleared the scene. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened or damaged. Kōloa Road was reopened by Kaua‘i police at approximately 12:50 p.m.

Original post: The Kaua‘i Fire Department is currently responding to a brush fire near Kōloa Road in the vicinity of the water tank. No structures are threatened at this time.

The Kaua‘i Police Department is currently rerouting traffic in the area to assist in the response.

All northbound traffic is being diverted onto Ōma‘o Road and all southbound traffic will continue to utilize Kōloa Road.
