A water service shutdown has been scheduled on a portion of Lauoho Road and a portion of Kaumuali’i Highway on Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting to allow contractor, Earthworks Pacific, Inc. to tie-in new service laterals to the existing waterline.

Additionally, an intermittent lane closure on Lauoho Road between Makua Place and Kaumuali’i Highway will be in place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to create a safe work zone. Flagger personnel will assist with traffic flow.

Approximately 12 customers will be affected; three located near the intersection of Lauoho Road and Makua Place and nine customers located along the east-bound lane of Kaumuali’i Highway between Lauoho Road and Kuli Road.

Customers located in the service area are advised to prepare for the shutdown by taking the following steps:
• Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
• Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown.
