Beginning July 11, Wilcox Medical Center in Līhu‘e – the largest medical center on Kaua‘i – will be renovating its Emergency Department waiting room.

Work is anticipated to take approximately one week and will conclude by July 19.

The main entrance to the Wilcox Emergency Department will be closed during a portion of this time. Signage with alternate entrance options will be posted to help patients access the Emergency Department.

Patients may also be directed to alternative triage and registration sites due to construction.

The Wilcox Emergency Department is staffed by physicians and specially trained personnel 24-hours a day to treat immediate medical emergencies.

Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the State of Hawai‘i. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center and includes a central monitoring system.
