The County of Kaua‘i Department of Parks and Recreation has announced registration for the Summer Golf Program will begin on June 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Wailua Golf Course Pro Shop.

The program is open to youngsters ages 7 to 15. The registration fee is $35 per child per session. Enrollment is limited to the first 25 applicants. Registration is due by June 20 for Session I and July 3 for Session II.

Two sessions are being offered at the Wailua Golf Course:

  • Session I from June 26 to July 7 (no class on July 4 in observance of the holiday schedule); and
  • Session II from July 10 to July 21.

Each session will run Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Fridays, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Participants will need to bring a golf bag and the following clubs: a driver; No. 5, 7, and 9 irons; a putter; and a pitching wedge. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snacks and a beverage are recommended. Casual wear with sports shoes is also needed. No spiked shoes are allowed.

Only parents or legal guardians of the child must sign the waiver form. If you are not that person, but are signing the form for them, you must attach a Power-of-Attorney or notarized document stating you are legally authorized to sign on behalf of the parents or legal guardians. You will be required to show your driver’s license or an identification card to verify your I.D. and signature.

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, contact the Wailua Golf Course Pro Shop at 808-241-4100 or drego2@hotmail.com as soon as possible. Requests made as early as possible will allow adequate time to fulfill your request. Upon request, this notice is available in alternate formats such as large print, Braille, or electronic copy.
