Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: June 10-16

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has released weekly lane closures for June 10-16. There will be no lane closures on Monday, June 12 in observance of King Kamehameha Day. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

LAWAI TO KALAHEO

Shoulder closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile marker 10 to 11, in the vicinity of Akemama Road and Lauoho Road, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for surveying work.

LĪHU‘E

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile marker 4.7 and 4.8, at Huleia Stream Bridge, on Friday, June 16, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. for routine bridge inspections.

— WA‘APA ROAD / KAPULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 51) —

Right lane closure on Wa‘apa Road / Kapule Highway (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between mile marker 0 and 3.4, in the vicinity of Nawiliwili Road and Kūhiō Highway, beginning Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16 for grass cutting and shoulder clearing.

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

WAILUA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass, Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail and drainage installation and striping.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Nightly two-lane closures of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for lane smoothness grinding, striping layout and drainage work as a part of the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane.

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Hoi Road, beginning Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Kapoli Street and Kealia Road, on Saturday, June 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuawa Road and the Princeville Golf Club beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

WAINIHA TO HĀ‘ENA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) in the southbound direction, between mile marker 6 and 9, in the vicinity of Lumahai Beach Park and Hā‘ena Beach Park, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

— NAWILIWILI ROAD (ROUTE 58) —

Right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) in the westbound direction, between mile marker 0 to 1.5, in the vicinity of Wa‘apa Road and Kanani Street, beginning Tuesday, June 13 through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.
