Youth football equipment belonging to the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League was destroyed after a fire destroyed its storage shed early Wednesday.

The Kaua‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze, located at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a, at 3:30 a.m after receiving a report there was a fire at the park.

When Kaiākea firefighters arrived on scene, they found a 10-foot by 30- foot shed fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters with Engine 8 accessed the park from Cane Haul Road (Kapa‘a Bypass), while Truck 8 gained access from Kahau Road. A water supply was established, and firefighters formed attack lines to quickly knock down and fully extinguish the fire.
