Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative maintenance work on transformers and replacement of lightning arresters have been scheduled for next week and will result in a temporary interruption of electric service for Wainiha and Hāʻena residents.

The work is expected to take approximately four hours to complete. Interruption of power is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. on Wednesday with restoration expected to be completed by 3 a.m. on Thursday.

“We ask for your patience during this necessary maintenance work and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” a KIUC spokesperson said.
