The Department of Public Works and its contractors Maui Kupono Builders have announced portions of Weliweli Road in Kōloa will be closed for road resurfacing from May 15 to May 19.

Work hours are weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Starting May 15, lane closures and one-way traffic will begin for portions of Weliweli Road, between Kōloa Road and Waikomo Road. Traffic will be detoured through Kōloa Road and Waikomo Road during work hours. Work will continue in this area through May 19.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. No parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned on-site to help motorists and pedestrians navigate around the work zones. Access to properties will be provided.

Please observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs, and flaggers. Drivers should anticipate detours, lane, and road closure delays and allow extra travel time while driving through the work areas.

Anyone with questions may contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki of the County of Kaua‘i at 808-241-4845.
