Scheduled Hawai‘i DOT lane closures for the week of May 13-19 on Kaua‘i

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures scheduled for May 13-19 on Kaua‘i roadways.

Motorists should be aware that lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALIʻI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —

HANAPĒPĒ TO LĀWAʻI

Single right lane closure possible in either direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 9.5 to 17, in the vicinity of Lele Road and Uha Road, for crosswalk restriping.

KALĀHEO

Single right lane closure possible in either direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15 between mile marker 13 to 13.5, in the vicinity of Wahiawā Stream bridge, for tree trimming.

KŌLOA

Right lane closure in the westbound direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 16-17 between mile marker 8.1 and 8.3, in the vicinity of ʻŌmaʻo Stream bridge, for tree trimming.

LĪHUʻE

Right lane closure in the westbound direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 3 and 4, in the vicinity of Puʻu Nana Road and Kīpū Road, for tree trimming.

Shoulder closure possible in either direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 0 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Rice Street, for surveying work.

Shoulder closure possible in either direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 0 and 2, in the vicinity of Kailikea Street and Ahukini Road, for surveying work.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560) —

LĪHUʻE

Shoulder closure possible in either direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 0 and 3, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Kauaʻi Beach Drive, for surveying work.

LĪHUʻE (WEEKEND WORK)

Shoulder closure possible in either direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (May 13) between mile marker 3 and 7, in the vicinity of Kauaʻi Beach Drive and Aleka Loop, for surveying work.

WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapaʻa Bypass, for Kūhiō Highway improvements.

Single lane closure possible in either direction from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamoʻo Road and Kapaʻa Bypass, for guardrail and drainage installation and striping.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Nightly two-lane closures possible in either direction from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 14-19 between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamoʻo Road and Kapaʻa Bypass, for lane smoothness grinding, striping layout and drainage work as a part of the Kūhiō Highway improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane.

KĪLAUEA

Single lane closure possible in either direction from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 between mile marker 25 and 25.1, in the vicinity of Kalihiwai Bridge, for routine bridge inspection.

PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure possible in either direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 0 and 2.6, in the vicinity of Princeville Center and Aku Road, for guardrail installation and maintenance.

Single right lane closure possible in either direction from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 15-19 between mile marker 0.5 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, for grass cutting.
