Updates for lane closures of Weliweli Road in Kōloa to install new sewer line

Due to ongoing construction of various projects on Weliweli Road in Kōloa, the Kauaʻi County Department of Public Works announced the following updates:

• One lane of Weliweli Road, fronting Kaua‘i ATV, will be closed from May 8 to 10, to allow Koga Engineering and Construction Inc. to install a new sewer line.

• Traffic will be contra-flowed through the area during work hours from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All work is weather permitting.

• Due to this sewer line installation, the Department of Public Works has postponed road resurfacing work that was previously scheduled for May 8 to 11, on Weliweli Road between Kōloa Road and Waikomo Road. A new schedule of this work will be announced at a later date.

• Brief and occasional delays are expected during work hours.

Motorists are advised to make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary lane closure, use alternate routes, allow extra time to get to a destination and drive slowly when commuting through the work area.
