Updated May 4, 3:30 p.m.: The National Weather Service has canceled the high surf advisory for Kauaʻi.

Updated May 3, 4 p.m.: The National Weather Service has extended its high surf advisory until 6 p.m. Thursday for south-facing shores of Kaua‘i.

The forecast calls for large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet.

Beachgoers should expect strong-breaking waves and strong currents, which will make swimming dangerous.
