The County of Kaua‘i Planning Department will hold a series of virtual and in-person workshops in May and June, to discuss climate adaptation strategies with the community.

The purpose of the Kaua‘i Climate Adaptation and Action Plan is to analyze the county’s vulnerability to climate change and provide recommendations to build resiliency into county policies, programs, and planning.

“County services and infrastructure will be drastically impacted by climate change,” said Kaʻāina Hull, Planning Director. “We are engaging residents on adaptation strategies such as managed retreat transfer of development rights, and nature-based solutions.”
