Residents of Kaua‘i gathered on the island’s East Side this past Saturday, to join communities across the world in a moment of peace on Earth Day.

The nonprofit Kanu Hawai‘i hosted E Ala Ē, a Hawaiian chant that will unite voices from across the Hawaiian islands on Saturday. This year, they were joined by spiritual leaders including brahmans from more than 100 countries including Palau, Mexico and India.

The E Ala Ē event on Kaua‘i was held at sunrise at Hikina A Kala Heiau by Lydgate Park in Wailuā. That same morning, Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park hosted a community work day to clean up the area.
