Earlier this month, Blue Dolphin Charters General Manager Shaye Donnelly Clarke presented a $600 check to the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i for its Zonta Foundation scholarships.

“It’s been really exciting to work alongside the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i and to get their members out on the water during our humpback whale season,” Clarke said. “The applicants for the scholarship program have been inspiring and we are very happy to support those young women.”

In March, the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i and The Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Foundation were treated to a whale of a good time to benefit scholarships. Blue Dolphin Charters hosted a fundraiser whale watch tour for Zonta members and members of the public.

Offering deep discounts to the guests, Blue Dolphin Charters pledged 10% of its profits to the Zonta Foundation Scholarship Fund.

Annually, The Zonta Club of Kaua’i Foundation awards scholarships in the amount of $1,000 or
more to young women in Kaua’i seeking to pursue a higher education. Academic scholarships
are awarded to each young woman who is accepted by our Zonta Scholarship Committee.

Qualifications for applicants must be high school graduates on Kaua’i with high academics seeking to further their education. Scholarships are also being awarded to women returning to college and the workforce to continue their education at Kaua’i Community College.
