Thunderstorms headed to Kaua‘i this afternoon
The National Weather Service reports a vigorous cold front will bring thunderstorms to Kaua‘i late this afternoon through the evening.
In addition to increasingly strong south-to-southwest winds developing ahead of the approaching front, the National Weather Service reports gusty and erratic winds associated with strong thunderstorms may bring gusts near 50 mph, frequent lightning, visibility near zero in heavy rain and the potential for small hail.
The public is advised to move indoors as thunderstorms approach and remain away from windows and electrical appliances. Lightning can strike several miles away from a thunderstorm.
The thunderstorm is expected to move over to Oahu as well, where the island will see stormy conditions starting tonight through Wednesday morning.
