Lane closure scheduled for Maluhia Road; Kalapaki parking lot to be closed
The Department of Public Works, Hiilawe Construction LLC and Goodfellow Bros LLC have announced that a portion of Maluhia Road is scheduled for lane closures on April 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
The closure is necessary to conduct road repair work and resurfacing. Brief traffic delays may occur during this period, so please plan accordingly. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic control signs and personnel.
As a reminder, Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high traffic or truck traffic volumes. The speed limit is 25 miles-per-hour for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road. Through trucks are prohibited on Ōma‘o Road for the duration of this project.

In addition, a portion of the Kalapaki Beach Drive parking lot in Līhu‘e will be closed for parking on Thursday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The parking closure is necessary for the installation of concrete wheel stops.
