Kekaha road improvements meeting canceled following water main break

Monday, April 10 update: The Kekaha Road and ‘Akialoa Road Improvements Project review meeting has been rescheduled for April 19 at the Kekaha Elementary School Cafeteria from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting was initially scheduled for April 5, but the event was postponed due to a water main break at the school.

Original post: Residents planning to see design concepts developed following the Walk Audit and Visioning and Design Workshop held in Kekaha in February, will have to wait a little longer.

A public meeting dedicated to the Kekaha Road and ‘Akialoa Road Improvements Project was scheduled for the night April 5 in the Kekaha Elementary School Cafeteria. But it’s been canceled following a water main break reported by the County of Kaua‘i.

The event will be rescheduled, according to the county.

The Kekaha Road and ‘Akialoa Road Improvements Project seeks to improve safety and accessibility on Kekaha Road and ‘Akialoa Road in Kekaha. At the April 5 meeting, the Department of Public Works and its consultant would have recapped public input received in February and presented a design concept for possible roadway improvements along the project corridor.
