Mack, Kagimoto are Kaua‘i water department’s Employees of the Year

The Kaua‘i Department of Water has recognized Michael Mack and Jason Kagimoto as the recipients of its 2022 Employee of the Year awards.

Mack and Kagimoto were honored during the Kaua‘i Board of Water Supply’s monthly board meeting on March 16.

“Congratulations to Michael Mack and Jason Kagimoto for their tremendous contributions to the department. Their exemplary performances within their divisions and on behalf of the department is a testament to their personal hard work and dedication to water customers,” said Joe Tait, the water department’s manager and chief engineer.

The Kaua‘i Board of Water Supply issued a resolution stating “Michael is a forward thinker who looks to find creative and efficient solutions for every situation encountered. He is a self-motivated, quality producer who openly accepts the challenge and responsibility to go above and beyond expectations to keep the water flowing.”

Mack joined the Department of Water in 2015, earning two promotions through his efforts. He currently serves in a supervisor position as a lead pipefitter.

Kagimoto is a Civil Engineer VI and is the Acting Engineering Division Head at the Department of Water. He is described by his peers in another Board resolution as a “driven, dedicated and hardworking team member who is extremely organized and focused on continuously learning and developing best practices to manage complex activities effectively and efficiently, and has developed processes and procedures to ensure consistency with engineering requests and permitting, resulting in improved turnaround time and a greater overall customer experience.”
