Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: April 1-7

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for April 1-7. There will be no closures on April 7 in observance of Good Friday. Kūhiō Highway Contraflow will not operate at this time. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KALAHEO TO HANAPĒPĒ

Single right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction between mile marker 14 to 17, in the vicinity of Hanapēpē Road, from Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

KALAHEO

Single right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction between mile marker 11 to 12, in the vicinity of Halewili Road to Lauoho Road, from Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

KALAHEO (NIGHT WORK)

Single right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile marker 10.3 to 11.2, in the vicinity of Anuhea Place to Kua Road, on Monday, April 3, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. for temporary striping for roadway widening.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

WAILUA

Single right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a Bypass and Kuamo‘o Road on Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail and drainage installations and striping.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Nightly two-lane closures of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a Bypass and Kuamo‘o Road on Sunday, April 2 through Friday, April 7 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (NIGHT WORK)

Nightly single lane closures of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 9.8 and 15, in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road from Sunday, April 2 through Friday, April 7 starting from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving.

KĪLAUEA

Right lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile marker 22 to 24, in the vicinity of Kaluamakua Place and Kalihiwai Road, on Tuesday, April 2 through Thursday, April 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass cutting.

HANALEI TO WAINIHA

Right lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile marker 5 to 7, in the vicinity of Lumahai Beach Park and Wainiha Powerhouse Road, beginning Monday, April 3 through Thursday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Single right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the westbound direction between mile marker 0 to 0.6, in the vicinity of Wailua Road, from Sunday, April 2 through Friday, April 7 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving.
