The Līhu‘e refuse transfer station will not be accepting residential scrap metal for recycling from March 6 to 10 due to equipment issues.

During this period, customers should transport their metal to the Puhi Metals Facility at 951 Puhi Road in Līhu‘e. It is open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

They can be reached at 808-245-6919. For more information, you may visit https://www.kauai.gov/metalrecycling.

This is also a reminder that commercially-generated metal is not accepted at any refuse transfer station and must be transported to Puhi Metals directly. Tip fees apply for commercially generated metals which are also restricted from disposal at Kekaha Landfill.
