Kaua‘i residents and visitors can begin The Year of the Rabbit at The Shops at Kukui‘ula on Friday, Jan. 27.

The sign of the rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity – and, accordingly, the Year of the Rabbit is expected to be a year of hope.

“Our annual Chinese New Year Celebration is one of our largest events,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, regional manager at Alexander & Baldwin, which manages The Shops at Kukui‘ula. “We look forward to welcoming and celebrating the Lunar New Year with our guests.”

The celebration, to be held at the outdoor shopping center located next to the Poʻipū roundabout on the South Shore of Kaua‘i, has been dubbed a “Flavors of Kukui‘ula” event. Attendees can enjoy culinary bites and refreshments from participating restaurants and a live concert from ‘Oiwi at 7 p.m.
