The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 occurred at approximately 8:06 p.m. HST in the Molucca Sea near Indonesia.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami threat exists for parts of the Pacific located closer to the earthquake, but “based on all available data there is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi.”
