Maya van Rossum, founder and leader of The Green Amendment for the Generations Movement and author of “The Green Amendment, the People’s Fight for a Clean, Safe and Healthy Environment,” will explain her movement during an online forum in January 2023.

The Hawai‘i Climate and Environmental Coalition in partnership with Surfrider Foundation Kaua‘i, Kaua‘i Climate Action Coalition and Zero Waste Kaua‘i will host the forum at 6 p.m. Jan. 11. The event will provide information and discussion about The Green Amendment, a proposed addition to the Hawai‘i Constitution that seeks to ensure access to clean water and air and a healthy environment.

Van Rossum will joined by state Sen. Mike Gabbard, chairman of the Senate Agriculture and Environment Committee, who will sponsor and introduce a bill during the 2023 Hawai‘i Legislative Session to adopt the amendment.
