A water service shutdown is scheduled on Wednesday to allow contractor, Pipeworks to install a service lateral along Kaumuali’i Highway, between Kona and Puna Roads in Hanapepe.

Approximately seven customers will be affected and are being notified via door-to-door notice. The work will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.

To prepare for a water service shutdown, customers are advised to take the following steps:

  • Store water to meet their needs until the water service can be safely restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends who may be impacted by the scheduled service disruption.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
