A high surf advisory was issued for west- and north-facing shores on the Garden Isle until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, surf is expected to be 14 to 18 feet along north facing shores and 8 to 12 feet along west facing shores. Impacts are anticipated to be moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.
Beachgoers are advised to heed advise from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don’t go out.
