Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announce lane closures for Nov. 6 to Dec. 2. All projects are weather permitting.

– KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

WAILUA

Both northbound lanes of Kūhiō Highway will be closed between Papaloa Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road for Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements, Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Papaloa Road. A single southbound lane will be open on Kūhiō Highway between Kapa‘a Bypass Road and Kuamo‘o Road beginning at 8:00 a.m. Left turns will be allowed from Haleilio and Kuamo‘o Road intersections on a trial basis beginning Thursday, Dec. 1. Contra-flow will complete set up at the normal time of approximately 5:15 a.m., and will be taken down between Kapa‘a Bypass Road and Kuamo‘o Road at 8:00 a.m. Contra-flow will be taken down between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapule Highway beginning at the normal time of approximately 11:15 a.m. Wailua Bridge improvements may also take place during work hours in this area.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

Shoulder closure in the eastbound direction on Kaumuali‘i Highway (route 50) between mile markers 11.7 and 13, Monday through Friday, Nov. 28 – Dec. 2, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. In the vicinity of Papalina Road and Halewili Road for utility work.
