Construction of a new roundabout in Kapa‘a will again require portions of three roadways to be closed.

Parts of Mailihuna Road, Hau‘a‘ala Road and Kawaihau Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 17-21. The intersection of the three roadways will experience temporary traffic shifts. Temporary traffic control plans will also be in place as construction of the new roundabout continues.

No road work will occur during peak traffic times for school drop off and pick up.

During the next several weeks, traffic control configurations around the intersection will change as construction progresses. Various sections of the roundabout will require closing, and detour routes will vary through each phase of construction.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and drive slowly through the marked detour areas, particularly through Kolohala Road.

Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
