Resurfacing work scheduled on Poʻipū Road
Portions of Poʻipū Road will be closed Oct. 14-19, weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The lane closures are necessary for road resurfacing work. No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop-off.
Lane closures will occur during the following locations and dates:
Poʻipū Road, between Kōloa Road and the Poʻipū Road Roundabout, Oct. 14 to Oct. 18. This portion of Poʻipū Road will experience closures in both directions at times. Motorists will be detoured around the work zone through Lopaka Paipa Boulevard.
Poʻipū Road, between Ala Kinoiki and Ainako Street (near the Grand Hyatt), Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. One lane will remain open to accommodate alternating traffic in both directions.
Motorists are advised to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations.
During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the work zone to direct traffic.
