The search for a 19-year-old swimmer continues into a third day as several agencies have descended on Kaua‘i’s North Shore in hopes of locating Jaren Asalele.

The O‘ahu teen went missing in waters off Kalihiwai Beach on Saturday. On Monday, multiple agencies began a second full day of searching for the missing man.

Over 30 responders assisted in the Monday’s search including Ocean Safety Officers on jet-ski, Hanalei firefighters, KFD dive team personnel, Rescue 3 specialists aboard Air 1, the on-duty Battalion Chief, Kaua‘i Police Department officials, and volunteers with Kaua‘i Search and Rescue who scoured the ocean from sea, shore, and by air throughout the day.

However, officials have not been able to locate the victim. Monday’s search ended at sundown and resumed at first light.
