Weekly road closures: Oct. 1-7

The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for Oct. 1-7. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) KŌLOA

Roving single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 9.1, Kahili Road and Upa Road, Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for grass trimming around guardrails.

2) LĀWA‘I

Shoulder closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the east (Lihue) bound direction between Koloa Road and Piko Road, Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

2) KEALIA TO KAPA‘A

Roving right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 10.7, Kamole Road to Kawaihau Road, Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass, trees, and cleaning guardrails.

3) KĪLAUEA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between Kapuna Road and Wailapa Road on Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of asphalt sealant.

4) KĪLAUEA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) east (Lihue) bound between Kahili Makai Street and Wailapa Road on Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for clearing of vegetation around high voltage lines.

5) KĪLAUEA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between Kolo Road and Kahiliholo Road on Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass and tree cutting and clearing and cleaning of guardrails.

7) WAIKOKO

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 4.6, vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Waikoko Point, Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree and grass cutting and debris removal.
