Partners needed to build affordable housing project in ‘Ele‘ele

Families looking for affordable housing on the Garden Isle may have a golden opportunity in the near future thanks to a county project in the woks.

The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency is seeking a development partner to construct the first 38 single-family homes in the county’s Lima Ola affordable housing subdivision in ‘Ele‘ele.

Lima Ola is a 75-acre workforce housing project. When complete, phase one will consist of 111 multi-family rental units and 38 single-family homes to be sold to qualified Kaua‘i residents. The total project, spanning four phases, is slated to provide between 530 and 620 multi-family and single-family affordable housing units. phase one infrastructure work was completed in January 2022.

Interested parties to work on the project must be registered as a public purchase vendor and can view the request for proposal via the link to Public Purchase provided at www.kauai.gov (click on “Bids & Proposals”) or visit www.publicpurchase.com. New Vendors may use these links to initiate the registration process.

The deadline to submit a proposal is Nov. 30.
